SIRG Advocate Academy

Build your confidence, become an advocate, support your community

Our aim and  value

The SIRGAcademy aims to empower individuals and groups with the skills needed to successfully advocate in education. Our goal is to expand the knowledge and confidence of our communities, so they can effectively support their loved ones and clients.

SIRGAcademy resources are currently freely available, so as to support learning and build our SIRG community. By doing this, we hope that SIRG can help transform the lives of many through improving their relationships and interactions with their school, Local authority and other services in order to stem the tide of needless, irrational and illegal exclusions and seclusions which are still prevalent in our community.

Discover our self-certified courses for a comprehensive understanding of independent advocacy.

We know that many people within our community are looking for resources that will enable them to self advocate. SIRGAcademy offers a range of short, easily accessible and digestible learning experiences, blogs and other relevant content, in order to help promote the work of advocates in the community. Our courses are easily accessible, inclusive and provide learners with an excellent user experience that are easy to navigate and show progress through each learning module

Micro-Learning

The SIRGAcademy “Microlearning format” allow students to go through each course accessing the parts they need to engage or are curious about. This not only saves our learners time, but provides a more personalised experience.

Benefits of our training programs

Community Capacity

We want to make the SIRG Academy the go-to community resource that enables us, as a grassroots community organisation, to build our collective knowledge and capacity in supporting parents and their children.

Desire to advocate

You already have the heart to help others.  Your lived experience, or personal desire to put yourself in the gap is one of the most fulfilling feelings.

Power of volunteering

Supporting clients

Our existing clients can now continue to self-advocate with confidence.  The SIRG academy provides resources that are easily accessible and would not require third party  involvement.
